Dr Don Perlgut - Chief Executive Officer
Don Perlgut has a strong background in not-for-profit and educational program management, marketing and public relations, business development and adult, community and tertiary education. Prior to his commencement as CEO with CCA in December 2015, he worked as the CEO or Executive Director of three other organisations, including the Rural Health Education Foundation and the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC). Most recently he has worked as Deputy Team Leader of the Community Outreach Program of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and Executive Officer of The Bright Alliance, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW.
Don worked as the Project Manager, Open Learning for ABC TV, where he had responsibility for the ABC’s partnership with Open Learning Australia (now Open Universities Australia). For the ABC, he supervised the development two adult literacy television series with NSW TAFE, a management series with Holmesglen Institute, and an AusAID-funded English language teaching series. He also worked in business development for the Australian Institute of Management (NSW/ACT) and a start-up IT company.
Don holds a PhD in communications from Macquarie University and a Masters of City Planning (University of California, Berkeley).
