CCA CEO nominated for Pro Bono Australia 2022 Impact 25 Awards

Community Colleges Australia (CCA) is proud to announce that our CEO, Dr Don Perlgut (pictured), has been nominated for Pro Bono Australia’s 2022 Impact 25 Awards. These awards aim to recognise innovators, collaborators and change-makers from across the social sector who are making a positive impact in the community. These awards have been an important platform to promote awareness and advocacy for the causes that the winners represent. You can show your support for CCA and Australia’s adult and community education (ACE) sector by casting a vote for Dr Don Perlgut.

This year Pro Bono Australia received a record number of 440 individual nominations; they have painstakingly shortlisted 150 nominees – of which Dr Perlgut is one. You can vote for up to three nominees. Voting closes on 1 February, and the winners will be announced on 16 March 2022.

“I am pleased to have been nominated for the ‘long list’ of this year’s Pro Bono Impact 25 Awards. It’s a testament to the opportunities that CCA and its members have given me to make a real difference to Australia’s ACE providers, their learners and their communities,” said Dr Perlgut.

Awards criteria are:

  • Collaboration: Someone who has the capacity to lead collaboratively and to effectively work across sectors, groups. Their outcomes have been “greater than the sum of the parts” based on the collaborations they have developed.
  • Influence: A person who understands the byways and back-channels of influence, the ways and means of money, political power. They carry with them the often invisible elements of leadership – what it looks like, how to get it, how to use it and how to support it in others.
  • Innovation: Someone who is driven by solutions. They think of problems as opportunities to improve processes. They could also take emergent technologies to develop new ways to approach emerging or current issues thinking beyond what is now to what could be.
