Riverina Community College is seeking to build its research profile in order to tap into social equity funding for a variety of projects: creating strategies for dealing with youth unemployment is probably top of their project list.
In the first of two research articles that will shortly be released on their new website (due to go live at the end of November 2017), they look further than the superficial "blame the youth" excuse, and explore the more subtle and hidden causes of unemployment and the challenges that society needs to come to terms with if it's to offer realistic solutions to the deepening malaise of youth unemployment.
Part II (early 2018) will explore some potential solutions that might offer a way out of a situation that is slowly spiralling downwards.
