Business Acumen for Senior Community College Managers

Wednesday, 7 February 2018

CCA will commence its “Business Acumen” series, kicking off in Sydney on February 7, 2018 (and in Melbourne in March: date to be confirmed).

Who is the program for?

The first day of this two-part professional development training program is aimed at:

  • Member CEOs with limited background in business management
  • Member CEOS in need of a refresher course in business management
  • Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and chief accountants
  • Other senior staff with financial management responsibilities

Time and Place

This program will commence at 9.00am on Wednesday 7 February 2018 at a Sydney CBD location near Town Hall and Wynyard stations, and will conclude by 4.30pm. Day 2 of this program will take place in May.

Registration (free) is for CCA members only (maximum 2 per organisation, more on application) via CCA’s Eventbrite registration page. Once you register, CCA will send you a short questionnaire that will assist our facilitator to tailor the program to participants’ needs.

Topics include strategy, business planning, customer segmentation, marketing and advertising, operational management, sales and team management, and will introduce the “Business Model Canvas” tool.

Participants will receive skills to strengthen the foresight, business savvy and financial health of their organisations. With its focus on strategy, business management and approaches to promotion and marketing, this program will provide member staff with an improved ability to meet their organisation’s government and other contract obligations.

Your facilitator: With experience in the education, financial, recruitment, education, real estate and sporting industries, Ty Wiggins (Principal of Converge Consulting) has held senior management roles, sat on senior boards and worked frontline in large and small organisations. He focuses on business strategy and leadership transition coaching and consulting. Ty is currently completing his doctorate on Leadership Transitions, and holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), Master of Business Coaching and Master of Business Administration (Distinction).
