Overview

Finding the right source for media files can be a challenge. There is an abundance of resources available, how do you choose the right one and how can you be sure you are correctly using it?

Topics covered include:

  • The importance of using appropriately licensed materials
  • Sites that can provide free images, videos, sounds and the licensing attached
  • Proper attribution and how to reference.

Presenter - Liz Meadows, Education Designer/Digital Developer

Liz proudly embraces her geekdom and is always on the lookout for ways to integrate her love for tech, pop culture, gaming, films, music and crochet into designing more engaging learner journeys.

Liz’s toolbox includes assessment and content design, exploring ways to work smarter and more proactively, problem solving and using creative storytelling to emotionally engage learners. We know this is a bit of an oxymoron, but Liz is a creative who loves compliance (weird right?). She thrives in the restrictive environment with her problem-solving and storytelling skills. Her superpower is ensuring online learning is compliant, while being engaging for the students.

Program funding

The project is funded by the NSW Department of Education through the 2021-22 ACE Teaching and Leadership Program, which is aligned to the Department’s priority to improve adult and community education outcomes.
