Schools
What if we could contribute to changing the lives of children in Australia with hearing and learning difficulties, through clever technology that’s delivered in Australia, by an Australian company to help Australian kids and their families.
Today in schools, children with deafness, hearing impairment, autism and auditory processing disorders can have a more difficult time than other kids from the first day of school. Typically, students can face learning, social and self-esteem-based challenges going through the mainstream schooling system, despite their best attempts as well as those of the teachers.
There are 29 other children in class, so the child can easily fall behind, plus the teacher can’t devote all her time to that child.
In the past it’s been impractical and cost prohibitive to get classroom lessons live captioned, so the developers behind SCRIBBLE built a platform that delivers blistering speed and accuracy with little to no delay, with everything in the cloud, a small piece of software on the teacher’s laptop and a discreet lapel microphone on her shirt.
Suddenly today we can help kids have a better opportunity for success in life by making every word available instantly, every day of the year with completely unlimited use of the captions platform. By having the teacher’s words instantly appear on their phone, tablet, laptop or even the TV at the front of the classroom, they suddenly have the same opportunity as the other kids in the class do.
SCRIBBLE is actually an advanced voice and data recording technology, powered by a remarkable, world leading transcription engine. For years our technology has been used in contact centres, financial markets and more to optimise workflow and find information quickly to improve customer experience. Having real-time transcription with incredible accuracy has turned our world on its head, and to now be engaged with schools around Australia to help children is an extremely rewarding and exciting change for us, and one that we absolutely love doing.
We believe we’re on the verge of wonderful change powered by people with a passion for what we’re doing and are excited by the prospect of a better future for everyone.
