Wyndham Community & Education Centre wins Learn Local Award

Congratulations to Wyndham Community & Education Centre for winning the category of EXCELLENCE IN CREATING LOCAL SOLUTIONS in the 2014 Learn Local Awards.

The award was announced by the Hon. Nick Wakeling MP at the 2014 Victorian Learn Local Awards on Thursday 28 August at the St Kilda Town Hall.

CEO, Jennie Barrera said that the award was in recognition of Wyndham CEC’s ability to respond to need within its local community through strong partnerships with others service providers, schools, business and government agencies.

Wyndham CEC was also a finalist in the Outstanding Pathways Program category for the Re-engage Wyndham Project.
“It’s an honour to be nominated and to be recognised in two categories,” Ms Barrera said after accepting the award. “It acknowledges the great work being done by all staff at Wyndham CEC across education and community strengthening services at the Centre.”
Wyndham CEC is celebrating 40 years of outstanding work in the community in 2014. This award is Wyndham CEC’s fourth win in the Learn Local awards following recognition in 2013 for its work with local business, Outstanding Organisation in 2011 and the Outstanding ACE learner in 2010.

The awards are an annual event celebrating the achievements of individuals and organisations across Victoria’s Learn Local Network.
