Rob Bonner
Interim CEO, HumanAbility

Rob Bonner is the Interim CEO of HumanAbility, the new Jobs and Skills Council for the Early Childhood, Human Services, Health and Sport & Recreation Industries. He will remain on the Board of HumanAbility following the appointment of the CEO later in the year.

HumanAbility will provide industry leadership and advice of jobs and skills, develop and assist in implementation and review of training products for our sectors, actively engage our industry stakeholders in our work and facilitate and advocate for workforce development in the sector. Until July 2023 Rob was also the Executive Director, Operations for the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) South Australian Branch, with whom he was employed for 37 years.

He has served as the SA VET Minister's nominee to the Australian Industry & Skills Committee which was responsible for the provision of advice to State and National Governments through the COAG Ministerial Council and regulated Training Packages for all industry sectors.

From 2015 to July 2018, he was a member of the Training & Skills Commission of SA, which provided advice to the SA Government on workforce, training and skills matters and regulates areas of apprenticeships and traineeships in the state. He was also Chair of the former national Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council and remains a member of the South Australian ISC for these sectors.

Rob’s active participation in vocational education and training was recognised in 2022 when he received the national award for Outstanding Achievement in VET and Skills.
