Michael Seymour
President, Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC)
Michael Seymour has served as President of Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC) since 2019. ATCC is a comprehensive college and a member of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system (Minnesota State). Minnesota State is the seventh largest public higher education system in the United States. ATCC serves more than 4,000 students and is a leader in retaining and graduating highly skilled students resulting in a job placement rate of 98%. Prior to ATCC, Mike served as Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs at Lake Superior College (LSC) in Duluth, Minn. LSC enrolls more than 10,000 students. Mike led the college's academic, enrollment, athletics, student service and workforce initiatives.
Mike’s innovative and entrepreneurial endeavors include serving as Vice President for WaveFront Communications. WaveFront was a pioneer in providing Internet access to the Twin Cities market serving several thousand customers before merging with Vector Internet Services. As a higher education leader, Mike has a long list of community based and student centered results. His work history includes serving the University of Minnesota Duluth as Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations. During his 15 year tenure at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Mike served as the Vice President for Administration/CFO, Vice President of Educational Services and Director of Technology/CIO. His teaching experiences include having served as an Affiliated Faculty Member at Saint Cloud State and Ferris State Universities and as an Unlimited (permanent) Faculty Member at Riverland Community and Technical College. He serves as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
Mike is a long time contributor to the community serving as leadership on multiple service club and economic development boards. He enjoys the outdoors with his wife Karla and their adult children Tori and Tyler.
