Do you want to speak at the Community Colleges Australia (CCA) Annual Conference in October 2024?
We are seeking engaging, educative and inspiring presentations and ideas that will engage our conference participants. This year the Conference will have a strong focus on interactive sessions, and we welcome proposals for practical hands-on workshops as well as dynamic presentations.
Do you have any ideas worth sharing with Australia’s most accomplished adult and community education (ACE) leaders?
Have you recently completed educational research worthy of wide dissemination?
Have you developed or implemented any innovative approaches to training, post-secondary education or related community services?
Have you watched and monitored Australia’s educational landscape and come to conclusions that others should hear about?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we would like to hear from you. Download and complete this Conference Presentation Template and email it to us at admin@cca.edu.au by 19 July 2024 at latest (ideally well before).
Presentation Proposals
All presentation proposals will be considered if they are relevant for the “present moment” of adult and community education (ACE) leaders, government policy makers, consultants, researchers and other VET leaders. We seek presentations that:
- align with the Conference theme of Creative Resilience
- present new, unique and challenging perspectives on skills development and VET
- present case studies that support the theme of “creating a culture of resilience” in community education, skills or not-for-profit organisations
- could be presented in a “workshop” format that allows participants to develop new skills, insights and understandings
- provide unique and stimulating perspectives on current issues
- encourage engagement and fun
The 2024 Conference Theme
The CCA Conference theme for 2024 is Creative resilience: Adapting and thriving in an uncertain world. The world is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities, from the COVID-19 pandemic to the climate crisis, from the digital transformation to the social justice movement. The CCA 2024 Conference aims to facilitate capability and to improve how we navigate this unique time, through exploration of key questions:
How can community education providers adapt and innovate in this complex and uncertain environment?
How can they leverage their creativity to meet the needs and aspirations of their learners and stakeholders?
How can they foster a culture of resilience that enables them to overcome difficulties and achieve goals?
About the Conference
Community Colleges Australia has been running annual conferences for 16 years. These events have become important milestones not only for Australia’s ACE sector, but for the VET sector, providing significant opportunities to showcase new ideas, share knowledge and announce new initiatives, such as Minister O’Connor’s foundation skills announcement at the September 2022 Conference.
This year we return to Sydney on Tuesday & Wednesday, 22 & 23 October 2024, and will build on our highly successful 2023 event. The Conference unfolds at the Amora Hotel Jamison, a 5-star hotel perfectly located in the Wynyard district of the Sydney CBD.
The conference dinner on Tuesday 22 October will host the ceremony of the third CCA Community Education Trainer of the Year Award and the eighth Student of the Year Award, which celebrates the work and underlines the importance of Australian ACE trainers and students.
The pre-conference social event highlight will be our popular informal welcome drinks gathering, which will take place as a cruise on Sydney Harbour.
Our popular sponsor exhibition will almost certainly be sold out again. Contact CCA Member Services Manager by email at operations@cca.edu.au if you are interested in supporting this event. You can download the 2024 Sponsorship Prospectus here.
