Community Colleges Australian (CCA) has announced the opening of entries for its first-ever Innovation Contest for the "best innovative community education project". The contest is taking place in conjunction with CCA's annual Conference, to be held in Sydney from 18 to 20 October 2016.
Prize-giving will take place at the Conference Gala Dinner on Wednesday 19 October 2016 in two categories: "best project" already completed, and "best plan" not-yet implemented. Entries are now open to all Australian incorporated not-for-profit community education organisations. The winners and "honourable mentions" will have opportunities to showcase their projects at the conference.
In announcing the contest, CCA CEO Dr Don Perlgut said, "CCA is seeking applications from all Australian community education organisations, not just CCA members and not just those involved in vocational education and training. There are no application fees to enter."

"Entries will be judged on four criteria: innovative practice, community benefit, is the project a good model for others, and how well the project's background, goals, activities and outcomes have been described," said Dr Perlgut.
"Contest prizes will be announced shortly," said Dr Perlgut.
Applications are open until Friday 2 September 2016, and shortlisted Contest entrants will be notified by Monday 12 September 2016. For more information, contact the CCA office.
