CCA Extends Overseas Community College Networks to Malaysia and USA

Community Colleges Australia (CCA) has extended its overseas networks in Malaysia and the USA.

In early January, CCA’s Chair, David Fuller (also CEO of WEA Illawarra), met with the Director General of Malaysia’s Department of Community College Education, YBhg. Dato' Amir Bin Noor, and a number of his senior directors at the Ministry of Education in Putrajaya (“Kolej Komuniti”).

In November of last year, CCA CEO, Dr Don Perlgut, visited the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) in Washington DC, where he met with Wayne Wheeler, AACC’s Director of International Programs and Services. The AACC has invited CCA members to attend its Annual Convention in New Orleans, from 22-25 April 2017.

The Malaysian and US outreach activities are part of CCA’s strategy to connect with community education providers in other countries, leading to exchanges, professional development opportunities and visiting speakers.
