Community Education Student of the Year 2020 Awards Announced

Community Colleges Australia (CCA) has announced the opening of nominations for the 2020 Community Education Student of the Year Awards.

Students eligible for the 2020 Awards are those who have undertaken formal study with an Australian not-for-profit community education organisation during the period 1 September 2019 through 31 August 2020, with nominations submitted through their community education provider.

“This is the third year in a row that CCA has run these awards, which are one of the highlights of the annual community education calendar,” said Dr Don Perlgut, CEO of Community Colleges Australia.

“All of our past winners and shortlisted students have achieved extraordinary results, and reflect the diversity of our sector, the strengths of our members and the importance of the personalised attention that not-for-profit community providers can give to their students,” said Dr Perlgut.

Nominations by Monday 21 September 2020 by using the 2020 Nomination form here (Word document). CCA welcomes all nominations, not only from members. There is no nomination fee and no age limit, although students need to be at least 18 years old by 31 August 2020.

Decisions on the Award winners will be based the judging criteria of career and study achievements; communication, team and leadership skills development; and achievements in areas other than study and work, including community involvement. More details on judging criteria can be found in the Terms and Conditions link here (PDF) or view the webpage version here (html).

The Awards ceremony will take place in late November 2020, probably in a “virtual” event. Cash prizes are proudly funded by the NSW Government.
