An Australian Federal VET Policy Forum and panel discussion will put the issue of VET front and centre in the lead up to the Federal election. The event brings together thought leaders and key stakeholders from the vocational education and training (VET) sector, and will provide a platform for discussion, debate and also for concerns about landscape and policy of the VET sector to be voiced.
Both Assistant Minister the Hon Karen Andrews (Skills and Training) and Shadow Minister for Skills Senator Doug Cameron will address the group. The three national peak organisations representing VET providers will speak:
- Rod Camm, CEO of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET)
- Craig Robertson, CEO of TAFE Directors Australia (TDA)
- Dr Don Perlgut, CEO of Community Colleges Australia (CCA)
Participants in the July 16th event will hear about the current patterns, trends, issues and needs from the three largest stakeholders of the Australian VET sector.
"CCA is pleased to speak at this major forum, and represent the interests of Australia's vital and active community education sector," said Dr Don Perlgut, CEO of CCA.
"For too long, the interests of Australia's adult and community education sector have been ignored in national VET policy discussions. This forum and discussion comes at a great time; CCA thanks event organiser Audit Express and sponsor VET Development Centre for the invitation," said Dr Perlgut.
